Tu B’Shevat
Posted on 1 Feb 2012 by Rabbi
Tu B’Shevat represents the 15th of the Hebrew month Shevat. It marks the date we begin counting the first fruits to GOD. In spiritual circles it is tradition to have what is called the Passover for Trees.
The Mystics believed the trees tithed on Tu B'Shevat symbolize the Tree of Life, which sends forth fruit of divine goodness and blessing into our world from above.
We know the Bible compares men to trees. Trees bear fruit that we survive on. It so happens that fruit is compared to the attributes of the Spirit we are to bear.
These fruits of the Spirit are love, joy and peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness , meekness temperance and faith
Be prepared to taste many different fruits of the trees as it will be like going back to the garden to recall the Tree of Life and celebrate to the LORD all his blessings.
Blessed is the man who delights in the law of the LORD,! He shall be like a tree planted by the river bearing fruit in season!
